Brie Cheese Burger

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 500g beef mince (1.1 lbs) (you can use lean or extra lean)
  • 100–150g (3.5 – 5.3 oz) Brie cheese, cut into cubes or thick slices
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter (for the pan)

Instructions:

  1. Season:
    • Put the mince in a bowl
    • Add the seasoning to the mince and mix well
  2. Form the burgers:
    • Divide the beef into 4 equal parts.
    • Split each part in half and flatten into burgers (you’ll make 4 stuffed burgers).
  3. Stuff with Brie:
    • Place ~25–40g (0.9 – 1.4oz) of Brie in the centre of one patty.
    • Top with another burger, sealing the edges tightly.
    • Repeat process until you have 4 stuffed burgers.
  4. Cook:
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
    • Cook burgers for 4–5 minutes per side (don’t press down while cooking).
    • Check that the internal temp reaches 70°C (160°F) and cheese is melted.
  5. Rest & Serve:
    • Let the burgers rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Tip : If you like a bit more punch, add a small pinch of chili flakes or a few drops of Worcestershire sauce to the mince before shaping.
