
Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 500g beef mince (1.1 lbs) (you can use lean or extra lean)
- 100–150g (3.5 – 5.3 oz) Brie cheese, cut into cubes or thick slices
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tbsp oil or butter (for the pan)
Instructions:
- Season:
- Put the mince in a bowl
- Add the seasoning to the mince and mix well
- Form the burgers:
- Divide the beef into 4 equal parts.
- Split each part in half and flatten into burgers (you’ll make 4 stuffed burgers).
- Stuff with Brie:
- Place ~25–40g (0.9 – 1.4oz) of Brie in the centre of one patty.
- Top with another burger, sealing the edges tightly.
- Repeat process until you have 4 stuffed burgers.
- Cook:
- Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook burgers for 4–5 minutes per side (don’t press down while cooking).
- Check that the internal temp reaches 70°C (160°F) and cheese is melted.
- Rest & Serve:
- Let the burgers rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.
Tip : If you like a bit more punch, add a small pinch of chili flakes or a few drops of Worcestershire sauce to the mince before shaping.
