Welcome to my kitchen :)

Dark Chocolate Mug Cake

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • • Pinch of salt
  • • 3 tbsp milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • • 1–2 tbsp dark chocolate chunks or chips (for gooey center)
  • • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix dry ingredients in a microwave-safe mug:

• Flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, salt.

2. Add wet ingredients:

• Pour in milk, oil, and vanilla extract if using.

• Stir until smooth — make sure there are no lumps.

3. Add the dark chocolate chunks:

• Gently fold in, or place a few chunks in the center to create a molten middle.

4. Microwave on high for 60–90 seconds:

• It should rise but still look slightly undercooked in the middle (gooey is good).

• Don’t overcook or it’ll dry out!

5. Cool for 1–2 minutes, then enjoy straight from the mug.

Tips:

  • Use good-quality dark chocolate (70% or higher) for the best gooey texture.
  • Add a pinch of instant coffee or espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
  • Top with ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of melted chocolate.
